Did
you think BORDER GIRL is Paulina's first album? Certainly
not! Paulina has been in the music business since she was a girl,
not only as a solo artist, but as part of one of Mexico's most
important youth bands, the Timbiriche band.
Would
you like to learn more about Paulina's discography? This section
will give you all the information you need about each of her previous
albums before her English debut. Look back to a decade of hits
and learn how Paulina became known as 'La Chica Dorada', which
literally means 'The Golden Girl' in English.
I
have only covered her musical career as a soloist in this section,
so you won't find anything concerning the albums she recorded
as part of the Timbiriche band. I will let you know that those
the albums she recorded as part of Timbirche total to about 10,
in addition to the ones that appear in this section.
So
when did the transition from Timbiriche take place? When did she
decide to go solo? Paulina recorded her first solo album in Spain.
It was titled LA CHICA DORADA and was first released in
1992. From then on, after the huge success of the albums smash
hit, "Mio" (which means 'Mine' in English), became her
nickname. She became 'La Chica Dorada', 'The Golden Girl'.
Paulina
continued to record new albums along the years like 24 KILATES,
EL TIEMPO ES ORO, and PLANETA PAULINA. It wasn't
until the summer of 2000 that she would release her most successful
album to date, which was simply titled PAULINA, and was
her first album recorded under the Universal music label. Her
most recent album, BORDER GIRL, contains elements that
were first included in PAULINA.
